Originally from the suburbs of Detroit, Dayle moved to NYC in 2003 after spending most of her childhood and and all of her college years playing make believe! From Backyard plays to a church puppet troupe; showchoir to beachy summer stocks, and eventually a BFA in Music Theatre, Dayle loved being in the moment, collaborating and using her gifts to bring laughter and joy into peoples lives. It took some soul searching but she soon realized her joy wasn't solely going to be found onstage, but in the creative process- exploration of movement, emotions and sound in a non-judgement zone. As an actor, yoga asanas had always been a part of her warm-ups- a great way to open the body and free the mind, and as acting faded out, yoga faded in. The practice became a place of solace in the hustle and bustle of the big city, relieving stress and anxiety, providing a much needed community and igniting a new passion- spreading the joy of yoga to anyone who would listen! After 7 years of spreading the 'gospel' in the big apple, Dayle, her husband and their little black cat Winkie packed up their truck and headed for the mountains in Colorado, trading one awesome skyline for another! After two years of adventure in Denver the Extrells are happy to be making their home in the Great Lake state surrounded by family and friends!
Dayle guides a playful, alignment based practice. Her goal is to help her students get to know their bodies while fostering a deep respect and admiration for all they do. Her classes combine strength, breath and grace with spirituality, laughter and a rocking playlist. If you are looking to elevate your physical practice Dayle will guide you through creative sequences to open the body and breakdown advanced poses in a way that makes them surprisingly accessible for all levels. Her restorative classes are deeply healing, combining meditation and relaxation with juicy hands on assists. Dayle is also known to sing to her students in savassana, so if you'd like a lullaby, be sure to let her know!
